LEADERSHIP TEAM
Bill Champion
PRESIDENT & CEO
Bill is a graduate of Gardner Webb College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems. He holds NC Contracting Licenses H-1, 2, and 3, as well as the NC and SC Unlimited General Contractors license for MCI. Bill is certified Green Belt Six Sigma, and is highly proficient in Revit, Trimble, BIM modeling, and the Viewpoint Software suite. Having started at MCI in 1985 as a part-time truck driver during college, Bill has worked in all aspects of MCI; from field, to project manager, to department manager, to VP to President of MCI in 2020.
Dane Osburn
VICE PRESIDENT OF RALEIGH OPERATIONS
Dane has been employed at Mechanical Contractors, Inc. since 1985 with experience as a Service Technician, Sheetmetal Technician, and a Project Manager. Today, he is in charge of Raleigh Construction operations. He was educated at Lincoln Technical Institute with a degree in Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration. He also has concentrated training in DDC Controls and the commissioning process. He holds N.C. State Contracting Licenses H-1, H-2 and H-3 as well as a Plumbing License.
Preston Burton
CONTROLS GROUP LEADER
Preston Burton is MCI’s systems integration group manager and oversees all aspects of the company’s Charlotte and Raleigh controls groups. With over 11 years of service at MCI, Preston is a master at streamlining operations around sales, engineering, estimating, DDC programming, and department policies. His deep background and expertise in controls products and software also makes him a critical partner across numerous industries for a wide variety of applications.
Geoff Cutler
Sr. VICE PRESIDENT & COO
Geoff joined Mechanical Contractors, Inc. in 2007 with 13 years as an Engineer and Project Manager in the building automation field working for a major equipment manufacturer in their contracting solutions department. He is a graduate of the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology where he studied HVAC and Electrical Construction. At MCI, Geoff is responsible for leading our HVAC Service, Systems Integration, and Energy Services Groups. He also supports all of our design/build projects along with his team.
Dustin Carter
VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING
Dustin graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering emphasis in Mechanical Systems. He has over fifteen years of experience and specialty in engineering design, consulting, and project management. His experience includes HVAC, Fire Suppression and Plumbing systems design. Dustin has experience with 20+ LEED projects as the MEP Engineer and 5 LEED projects as a commissioning agent. Dustin is a registered P.E. in North and South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Texas and Virginia; Certified Energy Manager; and is a LEED Accredited Professional. He is also an active member of ASHRAE.
Barry Misiak
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Barry joined Mechanical Contractors in 2007 and is in charge of Construction Sales and Business Development. Prior to working for MCI, Barry worked for a real estate developer managing properties in Charlotte for 17 years where he gained valuable experience in building construction and operation. He graduated from Triangle Institute of Technology with a degree in RHVAC.
Greg Brown
CFO

With over a decade of service to the MCI family, Greg is the lead responsibility for all matters related to accounting, finance, and information technology. Greg’s attentive leadership and industry expertise make him an invaluable member of the executive team who has helped pave the way for MCI’s continual growth and successes. Greg holds an MBA as well as a bachelor’s degree in finance and is a licensed CPA in the state of North Carolina. He is a certified member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
Billy Evans
VICE PRESIDENT OF CHARLOTTE OPERATIONS
Billy started at MCI in 1996 as a Sheet Metal Helper. Since that time, Billy has grown his position at MCI through the ranks, and today, he is in charge of Charlotte Construction Field Operations. Billy holds N.C. State Contracting Licenses H-1, H-2 and H-3, is LEED AP BD&C certified, and holds additional licenses in South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Virginia.
