Construction
Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is proud to have professional capability in fabrication, sheetmetal and piping. Our capabilities can be seen in our investment in modern tooling, communications, and most importantly, the quality of our people.
Project Management
Mechanical construction of HVAC systems involves extensive coordination of equipment delivery, trade, subcontractors, and the general contractor. Project management is an essential component of successful mechanical construction. Our complete understanding of the scope of work enables us to produce a schedule compatible with your completion date.
MCI’s project management team is responsible for ensuring quality work delivered on time and within budget. We work closely with our subcontractors to resolve any problems before they may impact the project. Timely, accurate handling and reporting of changes in drawings and the scope of work is also necessary for a successful project. Any changes are immediately addressed as not to impede construction progress.
The results are better-managed projects, a reduction in unnecessary expenditures, shorter schedules and marked improvement in quality and safety performance.
Fabrication
We fabricate over 1 million lbs of ducting and related systems per year with an average employment of seventeen people. We are proud to have a 5% turnover rate and the same shop manager for twenty-one years. The flexibility of controlling the production schedule for new jobs and quick corrections for field changes means your projects will never be held up due to fabrication schedules from a third party subcontractor.
Sheetmetal / Piping
We maintain twelve to fifteen sheetmetal crews for rectangular and spiral duct, airside equipment, plenum houses, and air distribution installation. Our twelve crew foremen average more than fifteen years experience with the company. They have training in operation of lifts, drilling equipment, anchors, fasteners, and scaffolds. The ability to perform field measurements, custom modifications, and fast track construction is where our people really excel.
Chilled water, hot water, condenser water, natural gas or propane, and steam piping from ½" to 36" is where we thrive. Copper, steel, PVC, pre-insulated as required for the installation of boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and other equipment is not a problem for our fitters. With an average experience of twenty years, a better group of pipers and welders is not to be found. And when they catch up with piping duties, they have cross-training in sheetmetal and equipment rigging to pitch in a complete your tight schedule jobs on time.
Tenant Upfit Division
Construction in existing buildings presents contractors with a unique set of challenges and opportunities not present on new construction projects. Access to the buildings is shared by existing occupants, lobbies and landscaping are complete, the HVAC systems are in operation, and the construction activities can start immediately. At Mechanical Contractors Inc., we have recognized these challenges and provide a separate staff of professionals to provide solutions.
Safety
Mechanical Contractors, Inc. believes that Safety is the Key and all injuries can be prevented. We are vitally concerned about the losses which can result from on-the-job accidents, both for the individual and the company. Therefore, the prevention of accidents is a major company objective, requiring the active and sincere cooperation of all employees.
MCI Project Managers, Superintendents and field staff all recognize the importance of maintaining a safe and clean worksite. Total accident prevention can only be accomplished through the coordinated efforts of all employees. It is our policy that no job or service performed by an employee is so important or urgent that it cannot be performed the safest way.
The Safety is the Key program includes an incentive program designed to recognize and show appreciation to all eligible employees for their safe job performance each year and to aid in the prevention of future accidents.
